The North Fork Digital Middle School and Minarets High School utilize technology in their curriculum. Fewer than half of the students attending these schools have Internet access at home. Using one-on-one tutoring from the community volunteers, the “Network” (at the Studio) will be a safe place where students can access the Internet and receive the time and attention they need to nurture their unique style and accomplish their learning goals.
We would love for you to be a part of this innovative project. Our first planning meeting will be held at the Studio on Tuesday September 27 at 7 pm. A flyer is attached. Please post wherever you like. Also, feel free to invite whomever you wish to this one-hour planning meeting. Folks,
We have tentatively scheduled the Second Annual North Fork Spaghetti Feast for November 5 from 5-9pm. This is the Studio’s principal fundraiser of the year. Last year we put on a great event and raised over $1,600! This year we hope to do even better. The event was a lot of work but we had many energetic volunteers on a variety of committees.
We will only be able to have the event this year, if we have equally dedicated volunteers. So, would you be willing to volunteer for a committee? You don’t have to be in charge of it (unless you want to). We need doers! It was actually a lot of fun, especially the day of the event!
